Terms of use
Updated 7 October 2026 (version 2026-10-07)
These terms apply when you use the Korepas platform (korepas.lt). By registering you agree to them. Part A applies to everyone, Part B to families (consumers) and Part C to tutors.
Part A. Everyone
1. Who we are and what we do
The Platform is operated by [COMPANY NAME], [LEGAL FORM], registration code [REGISTRATION CODE], registered address [ADDRESS]; email info@korepas.lt (Korepas, we).
Korepas is an online platform where families find tutors, book and pay for lessons and communicate. Korepas is not a school and does not teach. Lessons are given by independent tutors. We provide the platform, the booking system, reviews and payment administration (through Stripe).
2. Your account
- An adult can create an account. Give correct details and keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. If you notice unauthorised access, tell us immediately.
- Children under 14 have no account: a parent or guardian creates and manages the child's profile and confirms they are entitled to do so.
- Administrator accounts cannot be created through the website.
3. Rules of conduct
- Be respectful. Harassment, threats, humiliation, discrimination and unlawful, violent or sexual content are forbidden.
- Do not ask children for data not needed for lessons or try to contact a child outside the Platform.
- Lessons may not be recorded without the consent of all participants and the child's parent or guardian.
- Do not share other people's personal data, use the Platform for fraud, spam it or try to bypass its security.
4. Reports and content moderation
Anyone can report a profile or behaviour with the "Report profile" button or by email to info@korepas.lt. This email address is also our single point of contact for authorities and users.
The Korepas team reviews reports. We may warn, remove content, suspend or close an account. We will tell the person concerned the reasons for a decision and how to appeal, unless that would harm an investigation or put a child at risk. If a child may be at risk we may suspend an account immediately and inform the authorities.
5. Reviews
Only a family whose lesson has taken place can leave a review. Reviews are shown publicly without a name as "Family" and cannot be edited. We may remove a review that is unlawful, abusive or clearly unrelated to the lesson.
6. Privacy
A tutor's notes about a student are visible only to that tutor, and a parent's notes only to that parent. Messages are visible only to their participants. Platform administrators cannot see these notes or messages through the administration tools. See the Privacy policy for more.
7. Intellectual property
The Platform's design, code and brand belong to us. You keep the rights to your own content (descriptions, files), but you give us the right to display it on the Platform as far as needed to provide the service.
8. Our responsibility
We work to keep the Platform running but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Korepas is not responsible for the content or results of a tutor's lessons (for example exam grades), because we cannot guarantee them. These limits do not apply where the law forbids limiting liability, including intent or gross negligence, harm to life or health, and mandatory consumer rights.
9. Suspending and closing an account
You can close your account at any time by writing to info@korepas.lt. We may restrict, suspend or close an account for breaching these terms, security risks or legal requirements. We will give the reasons unless the law or an investigation does not allow it.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change the terms for important reasons (changes in law, in the services, or for security). We will announce significant changes at least 15 days before they take effect. A tutor who does not agree can close their account before the changes take effect.
11. Governing law and disputes
Lithuanian law applies. We try to settle disputes amicably: write to info@korepas.lt. Consumers can contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (vvtat.lt) and may go to court where they live; mandatory consumer protection rules of the consumer's country of residence still apply.
Part B. Families (consumers)
12. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros per 60-minute lesson. The price shown is the final amount you pay; we collect our platform fee from the tutor's share. You pay through Stripe; we never see your card details.
A package discount applies to all its lessons. We recommend using a package's lessons within 12 months of payment; after that you can get the value of unused lessons refunded on the terms below.
13. Booking and cancelling lessons
- You choose a time from the tutor's free slots, shown in Vilnius time.
- A family can cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge at least 24 hours before it starts: message the tutor or email info@korepas.lt. A lesson cancelled later, or missed because of the family, counts as taught.
- If the tutor does not hold the lesson (cancels or does not show up), the lesson goes back into your package or, if you prefer, we refund its value.
- Lessons take place online through the video tool named on the Platform or suggested by the tutor. Parents or guardians are responsible for the child's attendance and, where needed, supervision during the lesson.
14. Right to withdraw within 14 days
As a consumer you have the right to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of payment. To use it, state your decision clearly by email to info@korepas.lt; you may use the model form at the end of these terms.
By paying you confirm that you ask for lessons to begin without waiting for the withdrawal period to end, and you understand that once the service has been fully provided you lose the right to withdraw. If you withdraw after lessons have started, you pay for the lessons already given (their share of the package price) and we refund the rest.
15. Refunds
We refund by the same means you paid with, within 14 days of the decision to refund. The value of an unused lesson is the package price divided by the number of lessons (the discount stays).
16. Complaints
Send complaints to info@korepas.lt. We will reply within 14 days. If you disagree with the reply you can contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (vvtat.lt).
Part C. Tutors
17. Independent business
Tutors provide their services in their own name and at their own risk; you are not an employee, agent or partner of Korepas. You are responsible for the lawfulness and registration of your activity (for example an individual activity or a business certificate), for paying taxes and social insurance, and for the quality of your lessons.
18. Requirements and verification
A tutor must be an adult who has submitted a truthful application and the verification documents (identity, education, criminal-record certificate). A profile is shown only once approved. The "identity verified" and "certificate reviewed" badges appear only after the documents have been reviewed; they are not a guarantee of a person's suitability.
19. Prices and commission
- You set your own hourly price. The minimum is €18 per 60 minutes. A package discount cannot push a lesson's price below this limit.
- For each lesson taught we deduct a commission from the lesson's value: standard 20%; for your first 6 months after approval (launch rate) 10%; once you and the same student have had at least 20 lessons together, 15% for that student's further lessons. The lowest applicable rate is used.
- A lesson's value is the package price divided by the number of lessons. You receive the lesson's value minus the commission.
We may stop offering the launch rate to newly approved tutors; a launch period already started is honoured. Changes to rates will be announced at least 15 days in advance.
20. Payouts
Once a lesson is marked as taught, its value minus the commission is paid to your payout account through Stripe. This needs a Stripe account that you create and have verified; Stripe performs checks and its own terms apply. We may withhold a payout while a complaint or a suspected breach is examined, or until you provide the data needed for tax reports.
21. Tax reporting (DAC7)
Under EU Directive 2021/514 and the Lithuanian laws implementing it we must collect data about tutors (name, address, date of birth, tax identification number) and report the amounts they receive to the tax authority every year. Without this data we may withhold payouts.
22. Payments only through the Platform
Lessons arranged through the Platform must be paid for through the Platform. Do not encourage families to pay another way to avoid the commission.
23. Child safety
- Communicate with the family through the Platform. Do not ask for a child's personal contacts, photos or secrets and do not suggest other channels.
- Tell us about any incident or concern for a child's safety; we will cooperate with the authorities.
- Do not write sensitive data (for example about health) in private notes unless it is necessary for teaching, and keep them safe. You are responsible for what your notes contain.
24. How tutors are ranked
The default order "Recommended" ranks by average rating and, for equal ratings, by number of reviews. You can also sort by price and filter by subject, grade, language and verified status. Paying Korepas has no effect on position in the list. We will announce any change to this order.
25. Suspension and termination
For breaching the terms, security risks or legal requirements we may restrict, suspend or terminate your account, giving the reasons and how to appeal. We give at least 30 days' notice before terminating, unless suspension is needed for a child's safety, for legal reasons or because of repeated or serious breaches. We handle complaints about our decisions within 14 days. You can close your account at any time when no lessons are outstanding.
